The party games make the party. People will talk about a party that had fun games for a long time after the party is over. You want to be one of those people that throw the best parties. Planning your party should always include fun party games.

There are plenty of games to choose from. To plan properly you have to decide whether you will be focusing on the children or the adults or both! There are plenty of games that both groups can play together.

Children's Party

When you are having a child's party the games should be age appropriate. A game that children of all ages can play is musical chairs. You take enough chairs to accommodate all but one child. The idea of the game is that each child will circle the chairs while music is being played once the music stops everyone has to take a seat.

The child that can not make it to the seat in time is eliminated and so is one of the chairs. The game continues until there are no chairs left! The last child standing wins!

For outdoor parties you can have outdoor games like relay races! Of course the pin the tail on the donkey game is a great old standby. Today you can find a pin the tail on the just about anything game. Whatever the party theme is there is a spin off of the old classic available.

Charades

Charades are a great game whether you are a child or an adult. Children can use childhood themes while adults can use adult themes. It is a fun game. To make it more interesting you can use specific themes built around movies, cartoons, books and any other topic.

There are plenty of drinking games for the older crowd. Games like beer pong or quarters that adults can play which is really a good time even for some of the hardest crowds to please.

Of course if it is to be a mixed party make sure that you make arrangements for the children to be cared for while the adults have some fun.

When you are planning a party you should plan for some games but unless it is strictly a child's party you want to make sure that it is not so structured with games that it becomes stuffy. Children need a rather tight itinerary so they don't get bored and get into things they should not.

To really enjoy party games you want to be sure that they do not become so competitive that it ruins the party and you have hard feelings between competitors.
